Oinoussai Benevolent Fund and its Oinoussian Ball

On Saturday 16^th of November 2019 at the Nine Kings Suite in the Lancaster Hotel known for its ability to impress any guest with the amazing chandeliers over all tables, lovely flower decorations which immediately create a delightful and glamorous ambience, we attended the annual Oinoussain Ball. The Ball takes place for worthy causes including the Naval Academy for Merchant Marine Mariners.

We were shown to our tables listening first to the President of the Fund John M. Hadjipateras who joined the committee in 2002 and was elected president in 2016. He thanked everyone for their continued friendship, support and he is encouraging the younger generation to get engaged in driving the Fund forward in future years. This was followed by the exquisite meal of baby crab cakes, a delicious lamb main course and a delightful crème brulee with flames. Soon afterwards was the Raffle draw with many impressive prizes on offer and many of the raffle prizes have either been donated by the London Greek Shipping Community and their business partners or individuals, which have been personally created, such as artwork and jewellery.

Thenceforth we were invited to proceed to the dance floor to enjoy the music of the long-time resident DJ Avgoustinos Galiassos who mixed traditional music and latest songs to the delight of all and we were treated to a traditional serving of masticha liqueur shots. We had such an amazing night and we are so pleased that we could once again attend. We are looking forward to next years event.
